SoCal Native Silas Slaughter Headed to Aspire Academy

Southern California native 5'10" 2019 PG Silas Slaughter is relocating from his family's LA roots to the land of the Sun: Phoenix Arizona.

The promising young playmaker is the son of former Verbum Dei star Dwight Slaughter (dad played with the legendary Raymond Lewis in HS) and younger brother of former San Diego State star and current overseas pro Marcus Slaughter.

Silas is now enrolled in upstart national prep program Aspire Academy (Scottsdale AZ) and will re-classify to the 2019 class.  Slaughter was a standout at the Fullcourt Press Spring League held at Artesia HS (Lakewood CA) last March and is also a good student (3.2 GPA).

"Silas is deceptively quick and possesses excellent shooting ability. He comes from a tremendous basketball pedigree and it shows in his IQ of the game.  We are very lucky to have him" says Aspire Prep Head Coach Derek Olich.

Aspire Academy also includes several other NCAA D-I prospects including 6'10" 2017 Makhtar Gueye, 6'7" 2020 Dischon Thomas, 6'4" 2020 Elijah Burden and 6'2" 2018 Bryce Meadows and will play in such premier national events as the Tarkanian Classic (Las Vegas NV).

Look for Silas to make his mark at Aspire Academy over the next few years.  He is one of the top West Coast point guard prospects in the 2019 class.
