2010 Fullcourt Press Spring League: Report III

The 2010 Fullcourt Press Spring League wrapped up its four week reign on March 21st at Cabrillo HS (Long Beach CA). Media that made appearances at the league this year include Dinos Trigonis (Fullcourt Press, Hoop Scoop & Nothing But Net), Patrick Stanwood (Hoopmasters & Hoop Scoop), Dave Keefer (CaliforniaPreps.com), Etop Udo-Ema (Fullcourt Press & Hoopmasters), Roy White (WestCoastHoopsReport.com), Alan Utter (Hoop Scoop & Rivals.com), Bob Jacoby (Rivals.com), Sean Ceglinsky (Nothing But Net), Nick Koza (SportsAmp.com) and Matt Rodriguez (Ballislife.com).
In two previous reports, we noted several excellent performers. Here in Part III, we feature several more.
Cezar Guerrero 6’0” 2011 St. John Bosco (Bellflower CA)
Cezar closed out a very strong spring league with a pair of impressive performances including efforts of 24 points/7 assists (including the game-winning 3-point shot) and 27 points/6 assists. Guerrero (now a legitimate 6’0”) is arguably the most skilled lead guard in SoCal’s 2011 class.
Wesley Saunders 6’5” 2011 Windward (Los Angeles CA)
Strong and athletic slashing scorer has also added an accurate and soft perimeter jump shot to his offensive arsenal. Very good student is drawing Pac-10 interest.
Dominique Dunning 6’4” 2011 Centennial (Corona CA)
New Mexico-bound Dunning is one of the most underrated juniors in the West and this great kid possesses all the necessary intangibles to be an important player for Steve Alford’s Lobos when he arrives in Albuquerque in the Fall of 2011. Very improved outside shooter plays hard on every play and has a tremendous work-ethic.
Maverick Ahanmisi 6’2” 2010 Stoneridge (Simi Valley CA)
Quick combo-guard with three-point range is also an excellent defender.
Jonathan Conley 6’5” 2010 Ribet Academy (Los Angeles CA)
Very physical wing forward finishes well inside the paint and is a tenacious defender. One of SoCal’s most improved 2010 players.
Jordan Watson 6’6” 2011 Pacific Hills (Los Angeles CA)
Evolving post has promise and his effort on the boards and prowess on “D” makes his an intriguing prospect.
Jay Larinan 6’4” 2011 Dos Pueblos (Goleta CA)
Emerging junior wing has the size and quickness to be a coveted 2011 recruit.
Garrett James 6’0” 2010 Stoneridge (Simi Valley CA)
Dangerous 3-point shooter competes on every play.
Cory Osetkowski 6'8” 2011 Canyon Crest Academy (San Diego CA)
Skilled junior big man is relatively unknown to date but showed enough skills here to warrant tracking this spring and summer.
Michael Alvarez 6’3” 2012 Gahr (Cerritos CA)
Hard-nosed wing is an excellent defender and competitor.
Brandon Porter 6’1” 2012 Pacific Hills (Los Angeles CA)
Very underrated and athletic combo-guard can really explode to the basket off the bounce.
Max Forutan 6’0” 2012 Oak Park (Oak Park CA)
Crafty lead guard can score in a variety of ways and his performance on the league’s final day was his best effort of the spring.
Jeremy Sanders 6’5” 2012 Camarillo (Camarillo CA)
Athletic swingman is a sleeper in SoCal’s 2012 class.
Mookie Beard 6'7” 2011 El Camino (Oceanside CA)
Burly post is an excellent position rebounder.
Chris Kapano 5’11” 2012 Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos CA)
Heady point has a nice skill package.
Royal Mathews 6’2” 2011 Rancho Cucamonga (CA)
Slashing scorer can also apply tons of defensive pressure.
Reginald Cayless 5’10” 2012 Highland (Palmdale CA)
Point guard with deep range on his jumper.
Isaac Thompson 6’2” 2012 Rowland (Rowland Hts CA)
Cousin of former Oregon and Seattle Pacific swingman Donte Quinine (1990’s) is a long-armed off-guard with nice upside.
Chris Gorman 5'9” 2011 El Camino (Oceanside CA)
Crafty PG can really knock down perimeter shots.
Nick Lilley 6’3” 2010 Verbum Dei (Los Angeles CA)
Athletic defender can also get to the cup well off the bounce.
Drey Jones 5’11” 2011 Taft (Woodland Hills CA)
Solid ballhandler handles defensive pressure well.
Brian Wright 6’1” 2013 Mayfair (Lakewood CA)
Promising young guard is a name to track.
Wesley Austin 6’5” 2013 Rowland Hall (Salt Lake City UT)
Son of former NBA/Arizona State player Ike Austin is a rugged rebounder and emerging offensive threat. Contemplating a move to Southern California for his sophomore year.
Darren Skinner 6’3” 2011 JW North (Riverside CA)
Athletic wing runs floor well and can finish in transition.
Chris Wyms 5’11” 2010 King-Drew (Los Angeles CA)
Quick ballhandler and fine passer.
Ryan Snell 5’10” 2012 Cypress (Cypress CA)
Small PG has range on his 3-point shot.
Amonte Dees 6’2” 2012 Montclair Prep (Van Nuys CA)
Dees is a quick off-guard that moves well without the ball and doesn’t mind playing pesky “D”.
Thomas Pruitt 6’1” 2012 Lakewood (Lakewood CA)
Excellent defender and “glue” guy.
Cole Clark 5’10” 2012 Valley Christian (Cerritos CA)
Cerebral point is young but his high basketball IQ (also a very good student) and work-ethic bodes well for future development.
Andrew Hyde 6’4” 2011 Western Christian (Covina CA)
Rugged small forward is a consistent visitor on the glass.
Jonah Robins 6’0” 2012 Peninsula (Rolling Hills CA)
Assertive combo-guard plays hard on both ends.
Brayden Morse 6’4” 2013 Wilson (Long Beach CA)
Young wing with quality size is very raw but has the work-ethic to develop into a nice player.
Derek Stewart Jr. 5’11” 2012 Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos CA)
Hardworking PG has real promise.
Giovanni Douresseau 5’10” 2011 Palisades (Los Angeles CA)
Quick PG creates well off the dribble.
David Moreno ` 5’11” 2011 California (Whittier CA)
Scrappy point is solid with the rock.
Andrew Ortiz 6’1” 2011 Ayala (Chino Hills CA)
Combo-guard has an accurate perimeter stroke.
Andre Phinizy 5’10” 2010 South Hills (West Covina CA)
Crafty playmaker can create off the dribble.
Timmi Agbelemose 5’8” 2013 Gahr (Cerritos CA)
Very improved point guard competes well.
Cristian Delgado 5’11” 2014 Hoover MS (Lakewood CA)
One of the Long Beach area’s top 8th graders showed an excellent competitiveness as well as an impressive work-ethic which bodes well for future development.
