Media that have made appearances at the league so far include Dinos Trigonis (Fullcourt Press, Hoop Scoop & Nothing But Net), Dave Keefer (CaliforniaPreps.com), Etop Udo-Ema (Fullcourt Press & Hoopmasters), Roy White (WestCoastHoopsReport.com), Alan Utter (Hoop Scoop & Rivals.com), Sean Ceglinsky (Nothing But Net), Nick Koza (SportsAmp.com) and Matt Rodriguez (Ballislife.com).
In part 1 of this report (previously published), we highlighted several excellent prospects. Here in Part II, we feature a few more.
Jonathan Davis 6’7” 2011 Simi Valley (Simi Valley CA)
Versatile swingman is a smooth player that is strong inside the paint as well as an underrated ballhandler and perimeter scorer. Solid rebounder and defender too.
Norvel Pelle 6’9” 2011 Price (Los Angeles CA)
Very long and athletic post did not play this past season after transferring from Dominguez (Compton CA) and wasted very little time in making an impact at the league last Sunday. Pelle runs baseline to baseline as well as any elite big man in the nation and also possesses underrated offensive skills. In a national class lacking quality size, Pelle will be a name on the minds of tons of high-major coaches this year.
LaBradford Franklin 6’2” 2010 Great Oak (Temecula CA)
San Diego State-bound PG has a deep 3-point stroke and will be a needed playmaking addition to the NCAA Tourney-invited Aztecs next season.
Isaac Hamilton 6’3” 2013 Crenshaw (Los Angeles CA)
High-octane wing scorer can really put points on the board. Isaac had a great freshman year for the “Shaw” this past season.
Clayton Ragsdale 6’2” 2011 Corona del Mar (Newport Beach CA)
Cerebral point with a speedy dribble and accurate pull-up jump shot also has excellent grades.
Austin Ramljak 6’3” 2010 Oak Park (Oak Park CA)
Lights out shooter missed large chunks of his high school career due to physical ailments related to his rapid growth over the past few years. Terrific student too.
David Hall 6’5” 2010 Lynwood (Lynwood CA)
Very improved wing has the length to be an excellent defender and a soft touch on his mid-range jumper.
Tyler Ponce 6’2” 2012 Ayala (Chino Hills CA)
Accurate outside shooter and gritty defender is also an excellent student.
Aaron Alston 6’6” 2011 Hesperia (Hesperia CA)
Athletic defender runs floor well.
Jared Ponce 6’2” 2012 Ayala (Chino Hills CA)
The 2nd of three Ponce brothers in this league is also a potent offensive threat and plays with heart and passion. Very good student.
Jordan Fuller 6’1” 2011 Alemany (Mission Hills CA)
Crafty combo-guard had an excellent HS junior season – leading his HS squad to the CIF Finals and a berth in the state play-offs.
Matthew Ponce 5’9” 2012 Ayala (Chino Hills CA)
Small but extremely smart PG plays hard and has a 3-point stroke that must be respected. The third of the Ponce triplets is also an excellent student too.
Dion Wright 6’4” 2012 Mayfair (Lakewood CA)
Strong wing plays with poise and has ability to knock down outside shots.
Dominique Lanier 6’2” 2011 Lakewood (Lakewood CA)
Scrapping off-guard is very good beating defenders off the dribble.
Josh Ramirez 6’4” 2012 Ayala (Chino Hills CA)
Accurate spot-up shooter with emerging all-around skills.
Ziad Damanhoury 6’6” 2013 La Jolla Country Day (La Jolla CA)
Burly post has soft hands and is strong around the basket.
Victor Jones 6’3” 2011 Lakewood (Lakewood CA)
Active defender gives maximum effort and has the length to get to the basket off the dribble.
Rohjon Brett 6’5” 2012 Silverado (Victorville CA)
Agile swingman can knock down outside shots.
Austin Pope 6’2’ 2012 Burbank (Burbank CA)
Promising young lead guard is a sleeper in this class.
Brandon Shaw 6’0” 2012 Rancho Cucamonga (CA)
Dependable ballhandler and fine passer.
Yamen Sanders Jr. 6’3” 2012 Culver City (Culver City CA)
Strong wing can be a disrupting force on the defensive end.
Joshua McGhee 5’9” 2010 Culver City (Culver City CA)
Crafty playmaker is solid with the rock.
Garrett Roldan 5’9” 2012 Vista Murrieta (Murrieta CA)
Heady lead guard has impressive PG skills.
Antione Johnson 5’10” 2010 Saddleback (Santa Ana CA)
Quick and strong point guard has nice 3-point range.
Isaac Deese 5’8” 2014 Haskell MS (Lakewood CA)
Very skilled point with plenty of basketball IQ competes well with HS players already.
