(March 12, 2019)

The 2019 Fullcourt Press Spring League tipped-off for Week 2 this past Sunday (March 10th) at Cerritos College (Norwalk CA).

We noted several impressive efforts from the likes of Julian Rishwain, TJ Wainwright, Dorian Harris, Jorge Ochoa and Christian Moore in the report for Week 1 (February 24th): http://www.fullctpress.net/19-spring-league-report-1.html

Media/scouts showing up to last Sunday’s league includes Frank Burlison (BurlisonOnBasketball.com), Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life), Adam Calleja (Nothing But Net Magazine), Shereen Rayan Lavi (In TheFront Row LA) and Alex Carmon from Beach City Hoops and Wire to Wire Sports were in the house shooting video highlights and player interviews.

Listed below are a few of the standouts from last Sunday’s action. Others will be featured in the next few reports.

Makur Maker   6’11”   2020   Orange Lutheran (Orange CA)
Long and skilled forward creates plenty of match-up problems for defenses.  Long and athletic build allows him to score often inside while excellent shooting and ball skills for size make him a dangerous perimeter threat.   Highly regarded by Rivals.com’s Eric Bossi (ranked #15 on Rivals 2020 Top 150 Rankings), Maker has been offered by Oregon, UCLA and USC.

Bradley Ezewiro   6’8”   2020   Bishop Montgomery (Torrance CA)
Big and bouncy PF with underrated shooting touch will be a name on the rise this spring.  Explosive at the rim and a force on the glass, Big Bradley is just a consistent motor away from being a Top 100 national player.

Justin Hill   6’3”   2019   Highland (Palmdale CA)
Explosive combo-guard with polished perimeter stroke is crafty off the dribble. Recently offered by NAIA power Masters University (CA), Hill has made great progress over a year ago and with increased weight and strength, has D1 potential.

Brase Dottin   6’5”   2020   Harvard-Westake (North Hollywood CA)
Strong and athletic WF is poised for a break-through spring.

DJ Rodman   6’6”   2019   JSerra (SJ Capistrano CA)
Sturdy swingman is an excellent slashing scorer.  Unsigned senior is the son of former NBA top rebounder Dennis Rodman.

Jahveon Medearis   6’2”   2020   Warren (Downey CA)
High-octane lead guard can really put points on the board.

David Elliott   5’11”   2022   Birmingham (Lake Balboa CA)
High-scoring young point guard can get buckets in a variety of ways.

Corey Cofield   6’4”   2021   Birmingham (Lake Balboa CA)
Fast-rising 2G had a strong sophomore season, helping lead Birmingham to LA-City CIF semi-finals (losing to Westchester).

Nick Bowden   5’11”   2020   St. Bernard (Playa del Rey CA)
Undersized SG has very confident perimeter stroke.  Recruiting value will rise as he improves and demonstrates his playing-making skills for teammates this spring and summer.

Gabriel Quiette   6’3”   2022   Mater Dei (Santa Ana CA)
Young talented WG was buried in the depth of a talented Mater Dei squad this past season.  Athletic wing scorer has excellent defensive potential.

Josh Lee   6’4”   2020   Bishop Montgomery (Torrance CA)
Athletic “glue guy” is an underrated all-around player.  Will play a much bigger role for the Knights next season.

TJ Waters   5’9”   2023   Bethany Christian School (Cerritos CA)
Promising young PG has nice ability to penetrate and kick to teammates.  Will be a freshman next Fall at Valley Christian (Cerritos CA).
