2012 Fullcourt Press Spring League: Report IV
by Dinos Trigonis
(March 26, 2012)

The 2012 Fullcourt Press Spring League concluded Sunday (March 25th) at Players Edge (Corona CA).  This is the 4thand final report from the league. I highlight several players that stood-out on the league’s final day.

Tyler Dorsey                                    6’4”     2015   Ribet Academy (Los Angeles CA)
Dorsey is arguably the most versatile guard prospect that SoCal has seen in quite sometime.  Blending a tremendous skill set, impressive ball speed and excellent length and athleticism for a HS freshman, Tyler does things that most guards his age/grade can’t do like grab double-figure rebounds and tip-jam errant caroms off the rim.  Earned All-CIF honors this season after leading his Ribet squad to the CIF Division V-AA finals – defeating eventual California State Division V champ Village Christian in the process (had 26 points in that game).  Dorsey’s new nickname should be “Triple-Double” as he recorded several during his freshman season.

Isaac Hamilton                                6’5”     2013   St. John Bosco (Bellflower CA)
Hamilton is SoCal’s #1 2013 prospect and is among the top two in the state with Archbishop Mitty’s Aaron Gordon.  High-octane scorer can score equally effective off the bounce or deep behind the 3-point arc and is a bonafide 2013 McDonald’s All-American candidate.  Hamilton  has improved his defense and his ballhandling and distributing.

Roschon Prince                             6’5”     2013   Poly (Long Beach CA)
Prince has been in attack mode every game he has laced them up in this league and last Sunday was no different.  Roschon is a physical defender with excellent slashing scoring ability.

Jordan Bell                                      6’7”     2013   Poly (Long Beach CA)
Springy forward is a shot-blocker-supreme.

Leland King                                     6’6”     2013   Brentwood (Los Angeles CA)
Undersized PF is crafty and possesses an underrated mid-range game.

Sedrick Barefield 6’1” 2015 Centennial (Corona CA)
Sed followed up an impressive performance last week with another stellar effort on Sunday. Slicing and dicing his way through opposing defenses, he created equally well for himself as well as for teammates.

Latrelle Franklin 5’7” 2015 Great Oak (Temecula CA)
Ultra-quick point with an air-tight handle is only a growth spurt away from high-major status. Brother LaBradford Franklin (6’2”) plays point guard at San Diego State.

Nathan Wright 6’5” 2012 Murrieta Mesa (Murrieta CA)
Extremely athletic wing has nice upside.

Cameron Walker 6’6” 2015 Righetti (Santa Maria CA)
Versatile wing forward has tons of potential.

Austin Pope 6’5” 2013 La Jolla Prep (La Jolla CA)
Combo-guard with size transferred to La Jolla Prep from Burbank (Burbank CA) this past season and has reclassified back to 2013.

Rex Pfleuger 6’5” 2015 JSerra (San Juan Capistrano CA)
Athletic off-guard is an underrated defender.

Kendall Lauderdale 6’7” 2015 Orange Lutheran (Orange CA)
Young post with size is one to track

Fernando Ahumada 6’8” 2013 San Ysidro (San Ysidro CA)
PF with a big frame can finish with either hand and is a regular visitor to the glass.

Vince Berry 6’1” 2013 St. John Bosco (Bellflower CA)
Quick combo-guard has a nice handle and the ability to beat defenders off the dribble. In the process of returning back to his original HS next school year: University (Los Angeles CA).

Grant Corsi 6’5” 2013 Santa Fe Christian (Solana Beach CA)
Cerebral combo-forward has a versatile inside-outside game.

Braxton Smith 5’11” 2012 Murrieta Mesa (Murrieta CA)
Active point can drive and score.

Niko Stoner 6’2” 2013 Vista (Vista CA)
Wing has a knack for rebounding and defends with passion.

Spencer Mattox 5’9” 2014 Sweetwater (National City CA)

Quen Meadows 6’3” 2015 El Camino (Oceanside CA)
Another talented member of SoCal’s loaded 2015 class, “Q” is an athletic wing oozing with potential.
