Deonta Burton 6’2” 2010 Centennial (Compton CA)
Strong, athletic and physical combo-guard has real ability to make plays at both ends and has been one of the most impressive players in the league so far. Burton did not play his junior season due to eligibility issues so coaches did not have a chance to witness his talents recently but this assertive player could be among the top national surprises this spring and summer.
Jordan Hamilton 6’7” 2009 Dominguez (Compton CA)
After sitting out this past year when he failed to gain his fifth year of HS eligibility, Hamilton wasted little time getting ready for next month’s Jordan Brand Classic by scoring 35 points including game-winning score last Sunday. Hamilton ranks with the most prolific scorers to come out of Southern California this decade.
Cezar Guerrero 6’0” 2011 Workman (City of Industry CA)
Quick lead guard with deep three-point range is an underrated passer. CJ continues to impress on-lookers with his vast skill package although a few critics still remain who question his decision-making.
Justin Brue 6’4” 2009 Bishop O’Dowd (Oakland CA)
Athletic defender has great intangibles and is an excellent student. One of the West Coast’s top sleepers also has a underrated outside touch.
LaBradford Franklin 6’2” 2010 San Diego (San Diego CA)
Terrific shooter has really improved his ability to score off the dribble. Playmaker sat out this past year after transferring from Temecula CA area.
Thurman Woods 6’5” 2009 Dominguez (Compton CA)
Montana signee was another top prospect that missed this past season due to eligibility issues but came out last Sunday and showed why he was a touted 2009 prospect – hitting mid-range shots with regularity as well as locking down opponents on the defensive end.
Michael Wilder 6’2” 2009 Wilson (Long Beach CA)
Aggressive lead guard defends like Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu and is a very underrated scorer. Great student is also a promising volleyball prospect.

Cal signee is active around the glass and has a huge upside.
Colin Borchert 6’8” 2009 Mountain Ridge (Glendale AZ)
Agile forward has ability to finish above the rim.
Kevin Mulloy 6’7” 2010 Oxnard (Oxnard CA)
Athletic combo-forward attacks the rim off the bounce.
Jordan Salley 6’7” 2010 La Verne Lutheran (La Verne CA)
Slightly undersized but strong and athletic PF can finish with regularity and has a soft touch in the paint. Craig Smith-type post.
Byron Wesley 6’4” 2011 Cajon (San Bernardino CA)
Promising swingman is a pesky defender and has a natural ability to slash to the basket and use the glass effectively to score.
John Ryan 6’8” 2010 El Segundo (El Segundo CA)
Bruising postman can score block-to-block and is a physical defender.
Frankie Edwards-Eteuati 6’8” 2010 Cathedral (Los Angeles CA)
Very improved “big” with a high potential ceiling is the son of former Long Beach State 49’er Frank Edwards.
